Just as a balance to earlier comments, viewers should be aware that this version of Mildred Pierce is much more faithful to the source novel than was the 1940's movie. Judged on its own terms, it's a well done, well acted production with a wonderful, unromanticized period feel.

Good rendition, but I still prefer the 1940's version with Joan Crawford which is stellar. This version was also much longer
