I noticed all the negative remarks about the movie & was very cautious/hesitant to watch it. However, beside the point if I like or dislike actors (no movie is about who the actors really are) – movie/story itself focuses on the human connections, and choices, events that change one’s life. To be very honest – I really liked it. It showed the 1930's depression in a different light. Yes, it was horrible, and lots of desperate people, but at the same time – some people learned & enjoyed what life gave not what was lacking. p.s. if you want to watch Twilight - you should watch Twilight series & not compare apples to oranges :)
i really enjoyed this movie, it was beautifully made..the only scene that made me angry was that one elephant scene, i hate mean people! i know,i know, its just a movie!
A very enjoyable film. Actually better than I thought it would be. Havent read the book yet- but I know I will. The acting was superb.
I don't know which was worse the movie or the book. I liked that in the movie Jacob wasn't such a putz. The ending was more believeable in the movie, then in the book. I have no idea why a twenty-four chapter book got turned into a two-hour movie. They had to flesh out what they could. It seemed as if Reese was barely in the movie, her parts were written so hollowly.
I enjoyed it, but could be better.
This is one of the worst movies of 2011. I have to admit I did enjoy the first Twilight movie. (Please forgive me.) However, after watching this disaster I've come to realize that Robert Pattinson is the world's most awful actor. He is incapable of registering any emotion on his face. I've never seen a more wooden performance. Ever.
Really enjoyed this movie, minus the treatment of the animals. However, it is a story that keeps you hooked wanting to know what happens next. No swearing or the type of violence we are used to seeing in movies these days.
Good movie. I know they are telling a story, but I didnt like the animal abuse. But one of the better movies I've seen.
This is an awesome movie that will take you from the present and also back in time. It proves that an excellent movie can be filmed with minimal violence and no coarse language. A must see.
